RICHARD F. LOVELACE

Richard F. Lovelace, son of Asa and Martha Jane (Chastain) Lovelace, was born in Grundy County, Missouri, Feb. 1st, 1855, and departed this life Oct. 14, 1944, at the age of 89 years, 8 months and 13 days.

He and Charlotte Meredith were united in marriage Oct. 17, 1880 in Christian County, Illinois. Six children were born to them, Mrs. Minnie Wilson, Mrs. Hallie Halford, Luther K. Lovelace all of Bingham; Mrs. Amy Stokes of Loogootee; Mrs. Cassie Casey of Taylorville and Walter Lovelace, deceased.

Also leaves one sister, Mrs. Susan Stricklen of Fillmore; one brother, Charlie Lovelace of Decatur; 30 living grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren with other relatives and a host of friends.

His companion went on to her Eternal home Aug. 3, 1934. He was converted early in life and united with the M. E. Methodist church in Christian County, Illinois. He will be sadly missed by the children, also by other relatives and friends, but our loss is his gain in the Heavenly home.

Funeral services were held at the Bingham Baptist church, Monday at 2:00 o'clock p.m. by Eld. D. E. Baker, with interment in Fillmore cemetery. Allen & Co. funeral home in charge.
