Verna Graham, of Tulare, passed away June 24, 2012 at the age of 94. She was born Feb. 20, 1918, in Greene Co. AR, where she attended school.
In 1936, Verna came with her parents anad siblings to California. Except for a few short months in the Sacramento area, she resided in or near Tulare. In the early 1940's, she was employed as a nurse's aide for Tulare County Hospital Her last employment was for the Girls Gymnasium at Tulare Western High Scool, retiring in 1974.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Nora Gibbs, three sisters, Alma Gibbs Hickerson, Erma Gibbs Grissom, and Esther Gibbs Thompson, two brothers, Delmer and Loy Gibbs; two husbands, Eulis Bradshaw in 1983, and Andy Graham in 2006.
Survivors include one daughter, Marilyn Steinberg of Tulare, CA; one sister, Marie Gibbs Turner (husband Don) of Coarsgold, CA; one step-son, Sidney Bradshaw (wife Donna) of Lantana, TX; three step-grandshildren, Stacey Jackson, Stuart Bradshaw, Dustin Deliare and five step-great-grandchildren.
Verna was a faithful member of the First Free Will Baptist Church of Tulare for 60 years.
Visitation will be 12-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at Peers Lorentzen Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 28, also at the funeral chapel, with burial following at Tulare District Cemetery.
