Eckhart, Md., Aug. 4.
Mr. John Lee, aged 25, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Lee, Sr., of Eckhart, who was very seriously injured yesterday noon in Brophy's low vein mine, died at 12:30 o'clock. last night. The young man was engaged in running the electric motor that bank the cars at the mine. He was running the electric motor in an old working. When he came to the trap door on the road he slowed down the motor and jumped off and ran ahead to open the trap door so the motor could pass through. He either did not judge the distance between the door and the motor or probably has some trouble in getting the door open and thus lost time. At any rate, the electric motor that he had left, coming slowly toward him caught up to him at the trap door before he got it open and he was caught between the ribs of the mine, doorway and motor, and badly squeezed about the abdominal regions, and otherwise scratched and bruised externally. A large iron nail punctured his lungs. The young man was conveyed to his home, where Dr. Cobey,
of Frostburg. and Dr. Cromwell, of Eckhart, rendered surgical aid. Miss Rose McDermott, of Mt. Savage, a trained nurse, attended him. What makes the affair more sorrowful is that the young man's mother,
who has been ill for some time, is prostrated over the death of her son.

Funeral of Mr. Lee.
No death for many a year in Eckhart has caused so much sympathy to be shown, nor such crowds to turn out, as was that in the case of Mr. John Lee, who was buried this morning from St. Michael's Catholic Church in the Catholic cemetery. The funeral was an exceptionally large one which fittingly showed the esteem in which the young man and his folks are held
