"Eckhart, Md,Oct. 16. Mrs. William Lee, Sr, an old and highly esteemed lady of Eckhart, died Saturday night at 12 p.m. from general complications.Mrs. Lee suffered intensely for the past several months, but bore it all with Christian fortitude. She was operated on at the Allegany hospital in Cumberland last month, but bore It all with Christian by the electric motor, he was running is presumed to be the chief cause of (the death of a grown son a month ago in Brophy's mine, was killed) her death for at the time she was taken seriously ill. (the previous was as printed in the newspaper) Mrs. Lee was 61 years old, and was born in Rathcormac, County of Court {sic-Cork}, Ireland, coming to Eckhart in 1872, thirty-nine years ago, where she has resided eve rsince. She was known by everyone in Eckhart and had hosts of friends elsewhere. Her kindness and hospitality were known, far and wide. During her illness her home was constantly full of friends inquiring after her. The following brothers and sisters survive: Mr. John Barry,of Rathcormac, County Cork, Ireland, and Mr. Patrick Barry, of Kilworth, Ireland, and Mrs. John Reedy, of Rathcormac, Ireland. Many other relatives also live in Ireland and this country. A husband and the following children are left as chief mourners: Mr. Thomas Lee, Mr.William Lee, Jr., of Cumberland ; Mr. Patrick Lee, Mr. Maurice Lee and Miss Elizabeth, and Mrs. Frank Harrinan, of Cash Valley, near Cumberland. Mrs. Lee was a devoted and life-long member of St.Michael's Roman Catholic Church of Frostburg, where a high mass was sung today at 9 o'clock and from thence the cortege proceeded to the Catholic cemetery, where interment will occur."
