Death of Isaiah Koontz
Isaiah Koontz dies this morning at 3:15 o'clock, aged 80 years and seven months. He was born January 23rd, 1819, in Allegheny county, Md. In 1839 Mr. Koontz professed religion and united with the M.E. church.
He was married April 29th, 1841, to Miss Margaret Coombs, who survives him. Seven children were born to them. Of these, Elisha, the eldest, died in Maryland at the age of 3 years; James M. died in this city in 1882.
Those living are Sarah A. Flemming, Bellaire, Ohio; Wm. Koontz, Nebraska City, Nebraska; Chas. W. Koontz, Troy, Ohio; W.S. Koontz, Emporia, Kansas and Susan B. Miller, of Lakeside, Kansas. A few years after his marriage he moved to Marion county, West Virginia and in 1862 moved to Miami county, Ohio, where he lived twenty years. In 1883 he moved to Lakeside. The funeral services will be held at the house Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock, conducted by Rev. P.P.H. Monroe and Rev. Harkness, of Hartford.

Deaths.
Isaiah Koontz, one of Lyon county's oldest settlers, died at his home just this side of Lakeside school house, at 4 o'clock this morning. Mr. Koontz had been sick for several months. He was 80 years old, and the warm weather with his afflictions ended his days. He leaves several children, among whom are Engineer Koontz, of the Santa Fe; Scott Koontz, formerly a Santa Fe employe and also on the city police force; and Mrs. Miller, of Lakeside. The funeral will be held at the home n Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock.
