George S. 'Bubba' Willis, 60, of Memphis, retired captain for the Memphis Police Department, died Wednesday, November 20, at his home. Burial in Memphis Memory Gardens.

He was a corporal in the Army and an active member of Elks Lodge No. 2039, where he was Exalted Ruler in 1987, Elk of the Year in 1979 and a member of Past Exalted Rulers Association. He was also a former member of the Police Department SWAT team.

He leaves a sister, Mrs. Frances Chumney of Memphis, and two brothers James N. Willis of Memphis and John Robert Willis Jr. of Senatobia, MS.
