From the Creston Review of October 12, 1917 page 1, via the UBC historical newspapers website:
Quite a number of Erickson people were at Creston on Sunday afternoon for the funeral of the late John S. McLeod [sic], who passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Harrison, at Yahk, on Friday night, and whose remains were taken to Creston for burial. The old gentleman was quite well-known in Erickson, visiting here from time to time with his son, Murdoch, while he was here. He was in his seventy-ninth year.
