Clifton L. Woodard, Veteran, Dies Suddenly
The funeral of Clifton L Woodard, 39, of Swamp road, a World War veteran, who died Sunday morning at Franklin County hospital after a brief illness with pneumonia, will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. at Ingell and Shepard funeral home. Rev. Verne Leslie Smith of the Methodist church will officiate, and burial will be in Green River cemetery.
Woodard was born in Greenfield the son of Galsuha and Stella Amsden Woodard, and had always made his home here. He was a merchant by trade. He spent 18 months overseas with the 503rd motor corps division. besides his mother, Mr. Woodard leaves two brothers, Edwin and Clinton of this town and a sister, Mrs Isabella Hennia of Springfield.
