Antonio Pellegrino died August 4, 1988 at the age of 71, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Born August 23, 1916 to George and Rosa Baffero (Bafaro) Pellegrino, Salt Lake City, Utah. Veteran of World War II, Paratrooper. Prisoner of war in Germany for 27 months. Worked at the VA Medical Center for 18 years. Member FOE, Lodge #67.
Survived by wife, Esther, daughter Mrs. Lynn H. Holt (Frankie) Holt, South Jordan; step-children, Delores Gamet, Loraine Pitts both of Kearns; Mrs. Debbie Baker, Salt Lake; Jody and Tommy Walsh, Robert Land, all West Valley, 17 grandchildren, sisters, June Berry, Reseda, California; Angelina Pearson, Kearns; brothers, Benny, Springhill, Florida; Joe, Salt Lake; Dominick, Midvale. Preceded in death by mother, father, 2 sisters, 1 brother. Previously married to Louise Baer Pellegrino.
Prayer services will be, Wednesday, 11 a.m. August 10th, Lakehills Mortuary 10055 South State, Sandy, Utah. Friends may call, Tuesday 6-8 with the Rosary at 6 p.m. and one hour prior to services. Interment, Lakehills Memorial Park. Deseret Mortuary conducting.

WASHINGTON,D.C. Private Antonio Pellegrino of Salt Lake City, Utah was listed among 287 American soldiers held prisoner of war by Germany in a War Department announcement Saturday. The camp was designated as Staleg 5B. Private Pellegrino is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Pellegrino of 3064 South, Third East street. He was reported missing in action February 17, 1943 and the announcement was related by a later government telegram. A member of the parachute troops, Private Pellegrino has been in the armed services two years. He received his basic training at Fort Bragg, N.C. Prior to entering the army, he was a worker in the Curtis mine near Alta.
