Ellen "Betty" Miller, 80, of New Whiteland, Indiana passed away Sunday, July 8, 2012 at Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus, Indiana. She was born May 27, 1932 in Brown County, Indiana to the late Bruce and Mabel (Crawhorn) Michael. She married Edward Frederick Miller on September 30, 1973 at Grace United Methodist Church in Franklin, Indiana; he preceded her in death on February 17, 2012. She retired from Indiana Bell (formerly known as United Telephone Company) as a career-long telephone operator. She was a graduate of Brown County High School and was member of Franklin Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed gardening, working crossword puzzles, thrift shopping, collecting and being with her dogs Patches and Sophie.
Survivors include her daughter Ruth Annette Kimbler (Michael Maddox) of Guyton, Georgia; sisters Ruth Clark (Phil), Rachel Wilson (Don), and Dorothy Linneman (Don, deceased), all of Franklin, Indiana; brother Alan Michael (Judy) of Ft. Myers, Florida; granddaughter Jennifer Kelley (John) of Indianapolis, Indiana; and four great-grandchildren, Destiny Kimbler, Sophia Kelley, Caroline Kelley, and Jackson Kelley. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bruce and Mabel (Crawhorn) Michael; husband Edward Frederick Miller; sons James Michael Kimbler (on June 6, 2011) and Edward Alan Kimbler (on May 15, 2011; and former spouse, James Edward Kimbler (on June 11, 1983).
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 A.M. Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin. Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center in Franklin is handling the arrangements
