Wayne Richards
Funeral services for Wayne Richards, 76, of Longview will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 9, 2012 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with the Reverend Freeman
Pierce officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Gilmer. He passed away Thursday, July 5, in a Longview hospital.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mr. Richards was born October 28, 1935 in Crockett, TX to Harvey and Margie (Matchett) Richards and had been a resident of Longview for the past 46 years. He was the founder and former owner and operator of Richards Alternator Service in Longview and a veteran of the U. S. Army Reserve. He was an avid golfer and was very proud of and often boasted about his 5 "holes in one". He was a member of the Cherokee Golf Association and the Eagles Lodge and was a Christian and a member of the Baptist Church.
Mr. Richards was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Charles.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Bobbie Richards of Longview; step-son, Steven Youngblood of Gilmer; daughters, Cynthia Hunley and husband Lee of Tyler, Sondra Montoya of Dallas, and Wendy Goldschmid and husband Daniel of Dallas; grandchildren, Justin Hunley, Lindsay Martin, Jordan Montoya, Joshua Montoya, Ashley Goldschmid and Nicholas Goldschmid; great grandchildren, Sarah Hunley, Troy Hunley, Ty Hunley Martin and Avery Montoya; sisters, Ann Pincus and husband Stanley of Tallahassee, FL and Norma Beasley and husband Ralph of Jasper, TX
