Ms. Sandifer was born February 16, 1911, in Walthall County, and was the daughter of Lucy Thornhill Bowman and George Denson Bowman. Survivors are husband Ray Sandifer, sons Arwed and Gordon Sandifer, daughters Bettie Sue Barber, Blanche Cupit, and Doris Mahaffey, four brothers: Alvie Bowman, George Bowman, Charlie Bowman and Willard Bowman, and five sisters: Daisy Rushing, Ella Mae Steward, Edith Lee, Pearline Ratliff, and Marie Souther.
