CHESTER EUGENE BLOMGREN, 67, Stanhope, died Thurday, Nov 21, 2002, at Hamilton Hospital in Webster City, following complications due to heart failure. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday at the Foster Funeral Home in Webster City with Rev. Joe Lambert officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery at Webster City.

Chester Eugene Blomgren, son of Forrest and Ethel Meyers Blomgren, was born on Dec. 28, 1934 at Boone. He graduated from Jordan High Schools in 1954. He started farming with his father southeast of Boone. On April 16, 1956, he married Nancy Marie Bergeson at Huntsville, Ark. The couple farmed near Boone. In the spring of 1958, they moved to a farm south of Stanhope. He also owned and operated B and R Trucking at Stanhope.

Mr. Blomgren is survived by his wife, Nancy; daughters and sons-in-law, Vickie Weuve & Dean Barkema of Mason City, Pam & Mark Whitson of Stratford, Cindy & Jim Merron of Sioux Falls, SD., Kim & Terry Olson, Stanhope; son and daughter-in-law, Tim & Terri Blomgren of Stanhope; grandchildren, Chad & Ashley Weuve, Amber & Josh Blomgren, Matt, Michael and Grant Merron, Nicholas, Kyle and Adam Olson, Joel Whitson; great-grandson, Dylan Anthony; brother, Gary Blomgren of Boone; sister, Pat Reed of Boone; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Ethel M. Blomgren; brother, Darwin Blomgren.
He was a former board member of the Central Iowa Cooperative and former member of the Iowa Air National Guard-Des Moines.
His favorite pastime was spending time with his family. Chet and Nancy were members of the Stratford Strutters Square Dance Club for many years, he enjoyed cards and cribbage. He will be remembered and missed by his family and friends.
