Atchley, Wanda Quillen, age 102, passed away on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Island Home Park Health and Rehab Center in Knoxville after a brief illness. She was born January 30, 1910 in Bulls Gap, TN., the daughter of P.R. and Nola Harmon Quillen. She and her husband Fred operated the Southside Printing Company in Knoxville until his death in 1981. She graduated from Carson Newman College Cum Laude. Wanda was the oldest member of Sevier Heights Baptist Church. She taught Sunday School there for many years and was a member of the Women's Missionary Society. She was also a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Baptist Hospital Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband Fred Atchley; two brothers, Kermit Quillen of Whitesburg, TN and Walton Quillen of Jefferson City, TN. And niece Sally Livesay. She is survived by a nephew, Clark Quillen of Morristown and two life-long friends who will miss her dearly, Margaret and Jay Burgin of Knoxville. A special thank you is expressed to Island Home Park Health and Rehab (formerly Hillcrest South), Sarah, Charlotte, John, and friends and neighbors who helped care for Wanda. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 3:00 PM, Dr. Hollie Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Clark Quillen, John Quillen, David Quillen, and Michael Livesay. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sevier Heights Baptist Church Building Fund or One Vision International for Haiti c/o Sevier Heights Baptist Church 3232 Alcoa Highway Knoxville, TN 37920.
