Christy "Robin" Baker, 57, of Morganton, died Saturday, July 7, 2012.
Born in Burke County, May 8, 1955, she was the daughter of Bobby Vernon McGhinnis and Frances Pauline Orders McGhinnis, of Morganton. Robin was a member of North Morganton Baptist Church where she was a wonderful pastor's wife, music director, and children's church leader.
Robin is survived by her husband, the Rev. Kenny Baker, of the home; daughter, Kacee Stroupe and husband, Doug, of Morganton; son, Adam Walton Baker and wife, Samantha, of Morganton; grandchildren, Kerrigan Stroupe, Kennedy Stroupe, Peyton Baker, and Ambria Baker; brothers, Mark Vernon McGhinnis, of Marion, and Paul Timothy McGhinnis, of Morganton; and a special cousin, Sandra Carswell, of Morganton.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 10, at North Morganton Baptist Church with the Revs. Stony Curtis, Mark Conforti, and Kenny Baker officiating.
Burial will follow in Grandview Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to North Morganton Baptist Church, 101 View St., Morganton, NC 28655, or to Salem United Methodist Church, 1206 Salem Rd., Morganton, NC 28655.
