SPRINGVALE - William H. Milligan Sr., 92, lingtime Sanford resident and businessman, died Saturday, Nov. 8, at University Hospital, Augusta, Ga. He was born in Boston, March 29, 1888, son of Thomas and Christina MacDonald Milligan. He owned and operated a Western Auto Store in Sanford for 24 years and was a poultry farmer after that, retiring in 1962. Mr. Milligan was a member of the North Parish Congregational Church and a longtime member of the choir. He also was a 50-year member of teh Masons in Everett, Mass. Mr. Milligan had lived in Sanford 40 years before moving to teh Bon Air Retirement Hotel, Augusta, three years ago. He is survived by two sons, Thomas Milligan of Sanford and William Milligan Jr. of Augusta; three grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters. Services were held Tuesday, Nov. 11 at the Heald Funeral Home, 61 Main St., with the Rev. Frederick Robie, pastor of the North parish Congregational Church, officiating. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery.
