According to the writings of Mary Owen Beardmore (1813-1891), the Beardmore Family Vault (i.e., vault no. 7) was located, "near the northern boundary wall of the graveyard of the City Road Chapel & within a few steps of the burial place of the Rev. John Wesley is a vault of the Owen & Beardmore family. Eight members of the family lie in this vault." These graves were moved elsewhere sometime between 1972 and 1978 during extensive renovations of the chapel. When a member of the family in 1990 made inquiries to the staff at the chapel as to where the graves had been moved, the information did not seem to be available.
