Myrtle "Alice" French Perkins died July 4, 2012 at Hester Care Center, Hutchinson. She was born Oct. 7, 1917, in Partridge to Richard and Martha Elizabeth (Love) French.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She farmed alongside her husband of 68 years and was a school cook for the Partridge Grade School. She was a member of the Partridge Community Church.

She married Galen E. Perkins on Nov. 17, 1938, in McPherson. He died April 24, 2006, in Hutchinson. To this union were born two sons and two daughters. Galen and Alice were lifetime residents of Partridge until they moved to Hutchinson in 1993. Survivors include: son, Dennis and Judy Hochstetter Perkins of Gardner, Kan.; two daughters, "Jane" Burgess and husband Keith of Hutchinson and Gail Kroeker and husband Merle of Hutchinson; 12 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Dale and his wife Diana Taylor Perkins; and sisters, Susie Griffin and Frances Siegrest; and brothers, Harold and Richard French.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, July 7, 2012, at Partridge Cemetery with Reverend R. Samuel Askew officiating. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary.
