In 1974 Willie opened a fast food restaurant next to the Animas Post Office, and when he ordered a phone for the restaurant the only name he could come up with was Willie's Nightmare and the name stuck. He operated the restaurant until his his death in May of 1989. He also operated a restaurant a mile east of Animas on Pat's Mountain called Up's Bar and Steak House.He built an metal building and created a old west atmosphere. On June 4th of 1977 he married a widowed lady, Pat Jensen of Portal Arizona.
