Agnes M. Melanowski Antal, 87, of Belle Vernon, died Saturday, April 2, 2011, at 10:48 a.m. in Mon Valley Care Center, Carroll Township. Born Feb. 5, 1924, in North Charleroi, she was the daughter of the late Adolph and Sophia Melanowski. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, Mrs. Antal was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church, was a homemaker, enjoyed playing cards with her family, building jigsaw puzzles, walking and loved to cook, bake and feed her family. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Linda Antal, of Belle Vernon, Ronald and Mary Esther Antal, of Belle Vernon, and Stephen J. Antal and Linda Freier, of Akron, Ohio, a daughter and son-in-law, Patti and Bill Goon Peden, of Smithton, nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Walter and Mary Ann Melanowski, of Belle Vernon, and Edward and Mary Malenowski, of Belle Vernon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen G. Antal, a stepbrother, Carl Pintek, and a stepsister, Ann Duplex. Visitation will be held Monday, April 4, from 2 to 4and 6 to 8 p.m. at the LEONARD J. PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, (724) 929-6183. Prayer service will be held Tuesday, April 5, at 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home followed by Funeral Mass at 1 p.m. at St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Msgr. Roger A. Statnick, pastor, as celebrant. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Members of St. Sebastian parish will pray the rosary for the departed soul of Agnes Antal Monday at 3 p.m. in the funeral home.
