son of Cyprian* and Martha (Bush) Keyes,
born July 20, 1760,
married March 7, 1782,
  Dolly Temple, daughter of Jonas and Dolly,
  born in Boylston, March 7, 1760,
  died in Princeton, Feb. 17, 1850.

He came from Gardner about 1786 and was a Revolutionary soldier. He died in Princeton, Sept. 14, 1841, age. 81. The children said to have been born in Princeton, except Dennis who was born in Gardner. Their children were:

(NOTE: The person who originally put the genealogy on this memorial had the 4th child of Dennis' as "Sue". However, when looking back at the genealogy Book of Robert Keyes of Watertown, Mass.", it stated that Dennis had 6 children of which 4 were living. Then it listed the living 4. The first 3 match the list above, but the fourth one was "Lydia" for which someone has found her grave. I made this note in case there is a Sue documented elsewhere.)

His parents were Cyprian Keyes Jr (1735 - 1805) and Martha Bush (1737 - 1822). His dad is reported to have died in Pittsfield, Berkshire Co., Mass. and his mother in Princeton, Worcester Co., Mass. (NOTE: Since this bio was written, the grave for is father Cyprian was found, but still no info on his mother's exact grave location...)

"Israel Keyes, the son of Cyprian Keyes {Jr.) & Martha (Bush), was born 20 July 1760 at Shrewsbury, Massachusetts [Shrewsbury B/R]

The military service record of Israel Keyes of Shrewsbury 2d Precinct can be found in the Massachusetts Soldiers and Sailors Volume 7, pgs 153-154. Shrewsbury 2d Precinct was incorporated in 1786 as the Town of Boylston. Israel Keyes filed for a military pension while in Princeton and his wife, Dolly Keyes, filed for a widow's pension after his death. [U.S. Rev. War Pension and Bounty Land Warrant Application Files]

ISRAEL KEYES, age 21 yrs, married DOLLY K. TEMPLE, age 21, the daughter of Lt. Jonas Temple and Olive Keyes, filed marriage intentions on 19 January 1782 at Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. [Shrewsbury M/R]

Israel Keyes, (a Revolutionary War Pensioner), age 81 yrs, died 14 Sept. 1841 at Princeton, Massachusetts. Gravestone reads 18 September 1841 [MA V/R -Princeton]"
