Married to Della Beam; son of Silas Zane Beam and Mary Zane, per familysearch.org transcription of BC Archives death certificate 1924-09-342901.

From the Creston Review of May 9, 1924 page 1, via the UBC historical newspapers website:
Last Respects Paid Late Ira Beam
The many floral tributes and a large turnout of friends spoke eloquently of the popularity of the late Ira Beam of Erickson, whose funeral took place on Friday afternoon last to Creston cemetery, Rev. J. A. James taking charge of the services at the house and also at the grave, with E. Botteril, J. M. Craigie, Geo. Hobden, James Maxwell, George Cartwright and F. J. Klingensmith officiating as pallbearers.
Deceased, who passed away at the family residence at Erickson on April 30th, leaves to mourn his passing a widow; one daughter, Mrs. Keasling, of Casper, Wyoming; and two sons, Norman of Bartlett, Oregon, and Melt at home. The late Mr. Beam comes of the fourth generation of the Zane's [sic], an historic and widely known Virginia family, was a native of Indiana, who in 1875 was married to Miss Davidson of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to which state he went to reside when quite a young man and in 1886 moved into Monday, where he continued to reside until 1907, when he came to Erickson to make his permanent home. There was an informal friendliness to the deceased that gave him a very wide acquaintance, and for many years he was a familiar figure at all the donces [sic], being a violinist of considerable skill and produced the music from a violin of his own make into which he put no fewer than 275 pieces of native woods. His hobby, however, was hunting, and right up till last year he used a rifle acquired sixty years ago, and which has a record of bringing down 500 deer during his ownership of the weapon. Everyone hereabouts will miss him, and in their beareavement [sic] the widow and family have the sympathy of a very wide circle of friends.Father with wife Della Davidson of Rosetta (John Henry Williams, William James Kiesling), Norman Buttler (Jessie A. Hammond), Flossie (Marshall Grant Sanford), Melton Zane (Daisy Bessie Rhodes) and Rhoda (Roy M. Telford) Beam.
