Mrs. Cynthia Ann Harris was born April 12, 1869 at Springdale, Leavenworth County. She was one of a family of 16 children born to Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Thompson. The family moved to Abilene, Kansas when Cynthia was four years of age. There she grew to womanhood and married George T. Yonally, October 11, 1886. Four children were born to this union of whom two, besides the husband, preceded her in death.

Mrs. Yonally was married to J.R. Harris of McLouth, November 29, 1905. To this union were born three children. Mr. Harris preceded her in death, October 21, 1935.

Surviving children of the first marriage are Mrs. Florence Trower and Mr. Elmer Yonally, Of the second marriage the following children survive: Delitha Harris Clark, Russell Harris, Harvey Harris; four stepsons, Claude, Hugh, James, and Sidney Harris; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Nellie Cutler and Mrs. Mary Meierhoffer. Other surviving relatives are two sisters, Mrs. Mary Lacy and Mrs. Bertha Burgoyne; five brothers, Jack, Frank, Walter, Robert and Grover Thompson. Mrs. Harris is also survived by 13 grandchldren, 9 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; besides numerous nephews and nieces and a great host of friends.

Mrs. Harris at the time of her passing was a member of the Baptist church of McLouth. She made McLouth her home for fifty years and had moved to Tonganoxie two years ago. There she passed away December 27, 1948, at the home of her son, Mr. Harvey Harris.
