Jessie C. Thomas, 84, formerly of Carrollton, Ky., died Monday, Jan. 7, 2002, at Frankfort Regional Hospital in Frankfort, Ky.

She was born March 28, 1917, in Franklinton, Ky., in Henry County, the daughter of Anthony William Kopp and Annie Nancy Raisor Kopp. She was a retired employee of the Kentucky Department of Social Services and a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Frankfort.

She was a former member of the Rebekkahs, the Carrollton and Madison Moose Lodges and the Carrollton and Madison Veterans of Foreign Wars women's auxiliaries.

Survivors include one daughter, Martha Marlette of Frankfort; four sisters, Pauline Blankenship of La Grange, Ky., Edith Herndon of Metiarie, La., Jean Ratlief of Orange, Va., and Faye Arvin of Madison; two grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, John, Sherman and William Kopp; and three sisters, Effe Kopp, Ann Troxel and Mary Blackburn.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. John Catholic Church in Carrollton. Friends may call at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home in Carrollton from 5 to 8 p.m. today.

The body will be cremated. Expressions of sympathy can be made to the donor's charity in care of the funeral home.
