Charles W. Hawkenberry, 77, Chestnut Level Road, Belmont, died at Bellaire Hospital Saturday evening, April 27, 1985. Born July 24, 1907 on Belmont route, he was a son of the late Frank and Bertha Hatcher Hawkenberry.
A retired coal mine mechanic, he was a member of the Belmont Methodist Church, Barnesville and St. Clairsville Amateur Radio Clubs.
He married Carrie Passmore, who survives, along with two sons, Donald of Belmont and William of Centerville; six granddaughters; and one sister, Mrs. Virginia Cain, Belmont route.
Services were held from the Kelly-Kemp Funeral Home at Bethesda on Tuesday with Brother Amos Orrison officiating. Burial was made in Belmont Cemetery.
