Dorothy Ann (Odor) Howell born to Ralph Keely Odor and Rosalie Katherine Odor on February 16, 1922, died peacefully at home in her sleep on Saturday, September 23, 2006. A longtime Edmond resident, she also spent many wonderful years in South Padre Island, TX. Dorothy is now reunited with her beloved husband Bill and son Paul. She is survived by son Bill Howell, Jr. and wife Debbie, daughter Megan Howell Tobey, son Brian Howell and wife Luanne; brothers Ralph, Bill and Paul, sister Katherine and nine grandchildren. Born in Edmond, she spent her early years in Pennsylvania and then Arcadia, OK...her grandfather built the Round Barn on old Rte. 66. Dorothy graduated from Edmond High School in 1939 and then attended Central State College, studying music. Marrying her high school sweetheart and raising her family in Edmond, she enjoyed music and singing, the ocean, walking the beach collecting seashells and fishing with Bill. She was a founding member of the EARC workroom at the First Christian Church and she was a great cook. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, most of all she loved taking care of her family and friends...especially her grandchildren. Dorothy will be missed and fondly remembered by all that knew her. A memorial service will be held at the First Christian Church, where she was a lifelong member, on Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2006 at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to First Christian Church, 201 E. Second Street, Edmond, OK, 73034. Services are under the direction of the Matthews Funeral Home, Edmond, OK.
