Amy Phyletta Hovey was the eldest daughter and child of Samuel and Phyletta (Kendall) Hovey. Amy married Edwin Smiley Hibbard on 7 July 1838 at Brookfield, Vermont.

According to the Cleveland genealogy, Edwin was a builder, and was known as "a man of earnest and active Christian character, and a deacon in the Baptist Church."

The couple had no children.

Amy passed away at the age of 88.
