MADISON, FRED—Fred Madison was born to Caleb Dick and Jenny Foley on November 11, 1892, at Geneva, Fillmore county and passed away on May 6, 1981, at Fillmore County hospital at the age of 88 years.

He was one of three children in the family.

He farmed until 1945, moving to Geneva. He was employed by Geneva Produce, then later he worked for A. Koehler Hatchery for a number of years.

He was married to Esther Koozer of Geneva on January 25, 1922, and to them one daughter, LaVeta Willey, was born.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Edith Hogue.

He is survived by his wife, Esther of 59 years; daughter, LaVeta Willey; sister, Mabel Jacobson; and brother-in-law Hilmer Jacobson, Julesburg, Col.; several nieces and nephews, Norma Jean Willey and B. Willey and his wife Judy of Lincoln, and by two grandchildren.

Services were conducted from the United Methodist church in Geneva on Friday, May 8, 1981. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery. Organist was Mrs. Norval Lomax. Vocalist was Delwin V. Myers, who sang “Beyond the Sunset” and “Going Down the Valley.”

Pallbearers were Cecil Richards, Theodore Petersen, Floyd Schroder, J. R. Stewart, Leonard Kreachbaum and Bruce Doll.
