Hattie B. Mitchell, 85, of Orange City, Florida, died Monday, Sept. 1, 1997, at her home.

She was born in Lewis, New York, Dec. 6, 1911, the daughter of Irvin and Jennie Patnode Pulsifer.

Mrs. Mitchell loved to sew, braid rugs, make quilts and afgans, and she painted many beautiful pictures.

Survivors included a son, and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Verona Mitchell of Lewis; a daughter, Stella Hutchins of
Lewis; a daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Harold Alford of Plattsburgh; a daughter, Linda Mitchell of Tucson, Arizona; a son, and daughter-in-law, Calvin and Sandra Mitchell of Peru; a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Dick Kinney of Orange City; and a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and John Boyce of Orange City; 25 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; and three brothers, Richard of Lewis, Don of Elizabethtown and Philip of Peru.

Her husband, Dennis Mitchell, died in 1961. Two brothers, Warren and Fred, and two sisters, Anna and Edith, also died earlier.

Service were held in Florida September 5th and a memorial service was held in Lewis, New York. Burial was in Deerhead Cemetery at Lewis.
