Jim was the father of Elaine Jennings Brown,his only child from his marriage to Mattie LeGal Jennings and he was the grandson of William Morgan Jennings and Sarah Frances Bowen Jennings.

His second marriage was to Adeline Stoever Jennings.

Jim only had one grandchild, David Brown. David and Angie have one daughter, Berkeley Elaine Brown.

Jim was a blacksmith.

He was also the grandson of Robert J and Emma Laura Brooks Mansel.

Mr Jim B Jennings, age 84, of Crockett, passed away Dec 8, 1982, in Crockett. He was born April 18, 1898 in Leon County. Mr Jennings resided in Houston for 21 years, returned to Crockett to make his home after retiring from the Texas Highway Department in Houston, and was a member of the Gus A Bryan Masonic Lodge No 1296, Houston

Survivors include his widow, Adeline Jennings of Crockett; daughter, Elaine Brown of Lindale; step-son Oliver Franklin of Mart; grandson David Brown of Lindale; brother Tom Jennings of Palestine, step-grandaughter, Sherry Aycock of Temple, Debbie Smith of Lake Jackson, and Terry Crooker of Waco; four step-great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his sister, Ima Lee Johnson, parents Newt & Clara Jennings.

Funeral services for Mr Jim B Jennings were held Thursday, Dec 9, at 230pm in the Waller Family Chapel, with the Rev C Howard Davis officiating. Interment followed in the Evergreen Memorial Park with masonic graveside services.
