Fredia was the youngest of 11 children and had moved to Napa at an early age. She attended Lincoln Elementary School and Napa High School. She worked in the restaurant business from the age of 12, eventually working her way up to management at Silverado Country Club, while raising five children.
She changed careers and soon owned her own travel agency, North Star Cruises, which allowed her to travel the world.
She was a member of many social organizations, including Beta Sigma Phi, Widows and Widowers, and the Napa Valley Orchid Society.
Orchids were a major passion for her, which led her to build several greenhouses for all of the beautiful flowers at her home.
She adored her four granddaughters and showered them with unlimited love and attention. She loved taking the girls shopping and dining out. Birthdays with Grandma were always a highlight for the girls. Nicole, Jessica and Sabrina Lloyd and Alexandra Callis will always love and cherish the special memories they shared with Grandma.
Fredia is survived by her children, Larry Nelson of Palo Cedro, Calif.; Dan Lloyd (Patricia Anger) of Keaau, Hawaii; Dennis Lloyd (Sherry) of Napa; and Dianne Callis (Perry) of Fairfield.
She was predeceased by the love of her life, Eugene David Lloyd; son, David Gene Lloyd; and grandson, Michael Dingler.
A service to honor her life will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 30, in the Tulocay Funeral Chapel with graveside committal immediately following. Viewing is Friday, June 29 from 3 to 8 p.m.
