b. West Buffalo Twp.(that portion which became Hartley Twp.), Union Co.,PA. - d. Bellevue, Huron Co.,OH., s/o James Barkelow(1753-1834) by 2nd wife- Elizabeth -?-(d.c1822/23). A wagonmaker by trade, "Ransler" Barklow suffered a serious injury to his leg about 1850. He had married Sept.25,1840, Mifflinburg,PA., Catharine Bogenrief, who died Feb.4,1851 at Farmersville(now Rand), Union Co.,PA., leaving him with five small children, ages 5,6,7,9 and 16 months. He married a second time ca. 1854, a widow 7 years his senior named Mary Margaret -?-,(1809-1877). With two of his children deceased(George Ephraim(GAR), and Caroline Wyland(d.1872), he went to live with his youngest son, John Bogenrief Barklow(1849-1932) who had emigrated ca. 1878 with wife and family to Bellevue, Huron Co.,OH.
