Mrs. Alexander Succumbs At 82
Mrs. Abbie Posey Alexander, 82, a guest at the Maple Farm Nursing Home, Akron, for six years, died Friday at 2 a.m. at the home.
Widow of William E. Alexander Sr., president of the Lancaster County National Bank, who died in March, 1965.
Born in Steelton, a daughter of the late Henry G. and Annie Gerhart Posey.
Attended the New England Conservatory of Music.
Taught music in Beaver and Midland, Pa.
An accomplished contralto soloist, she sang with many church choirs and choral groups.
Active in local community affairs, and a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ; the Iris Club; and the WCTU.
Surviving are two children, Grace, wife of Robert Drummond, Fort Wayne, Ind.; and William E. Alexander Jr., Lancaster; five grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Grace Hoffsommer, New York City; a brother, Henry G. Posey, Auburn, Ala.; and several nieces and nephews.
