David Morant, 89, of the Plantersville Community, Georgetown, S.C. died Sunday, June 24, 2012 in Columbia, S.C.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a..m. on Friday, June 29, 2012 at Greater Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church in the Plantersville Community, with burial following in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
Mr. Morant was born in Georgetown County, a son of Johnny Morant and Mrs. Anna Gallant Morant.
He worked at Georgetown Steel Corporation for a number of years before retiring.
He was educated in the public schools of Georgetown County and was a member of Greater Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
Mr. Morant was the widower of Helen Alston Morant.
Survivors include three sons, David J. Morant, Atty. Johnny Morant and Atty. Louis Morant, all of Georgetown; five daughters, Barbara M. Dancy and Carrie Morant of West Haven, Conn., Annaline
