Mrs. A. WINIFRED BARBER
Funeral services for Mrs. A. Winifred Potter Barber of 120 Northside Drive, Bennington, a retired 30-year employee of BenMont Paper Co., who died unexpectedly Sunday evening at Putnam Memorial Hospital, where she had been admitted that afternoon, will be held at 11 am Wednesday at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home.
The Rev. Floyd I. LaBombard, pastor of the First Baptist Church, Bennington, will officiate at the service and offer committal prayers at the graveside in the family plot, Park Lawn Cemetery, Bennington.
Friends may pay respects at the funeral home Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church.
A native of Wells, she was born Jan 21, 1890 to Harry and Bertha (Warner) Potter, moved to Bennington as a small child and married William H. Barber June 13, 1910. The Barbers resided at 120 Northside Drive for more than 50 years. She retired from the BenMont Corp. in 1955, was a member of the First Baptist Church and belonged to the Women's Society and the Gradatim Group of that church.
Besides her widower, she leaves a daughter, Mrs. James Vince of Old Bennington; two granddaughters and two great grandchildren; a brother, Harold Rudd of Bennington, four sisters-in-law, including Mrs. Charlotte B. Lyons of Bennington and a brother-in-law.
