EARL CORMANEY

Earl L. Cormaney, 83, longtime resident of the Blairsburg community, died Wednesday at the Hamilton county hospital where he had been a patient since Monday. He had been in ill health for several years.

Funceral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the United Church of Christ, Congregational, in Blairsburg with the Rev. John Nolin officiating and with burial in the Graceland cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the Foster Funeral home until 9:30 a.m. Saturday, when it will be taken to the church.
Earl Lincoln Cormaney, son of E.A. and Lena Singer Cormaney, was born Sept. 11, 1888 at Bassett, Neb. He was reared and educated in Blairsburg.

He was united in marriage Oct. 7, 1909 to Anna Schultz, and the couple farmed at St. James, Minn., for three years, moving than Woolstock where they farmed until 1936. They then moved to their present farm home three miles north of Blairsburg.

He is survived by his wife; five sons and three daughters; Adelbert Comaney of Coulter, Iowa, Melvin Cormaney of Woolstock, Mrs. Orville (Esther) Riley of Iowa Falls, Charles Cormaney of Blairsburg, Mrs. Hubert (Daisy) Hill of Ellsworth, Donald Cormaney of Ackley, Mrs. Virgil (Shirley) Meyer of Galt, Carl Cormaney of Cordoba, Alaska; 22 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; one sister Mrs. Earl (Mary) Boozell of Webster City.

He was preceded in death by two sons and one daughter, Earl Cormaney, Jr., Kenneth Cormaney and Violet Cormaney; one granchild; his parents and two brothers.

He was a member of the United Church of Christ, Congregational, in Blairsburg where he has served as a deacon of the church. He was a member of the school board and also worked with the ASC.
