05/06/1862 - Union Army occupied Williamsburg, took over the Eastern Lunatic Asylum, and forbade Dr. Galt's entry.
05/18/1862 - Died, Williamsburg, James City Co., VA (cause of death: "indigestion" - some
accounts claim a self administerd overdose of
opium)
