He was born Jan. 18, 1946, in Mecklenburg County, son of the late James R. and Velma Williamson Hall. Mr. Hall was a Army Vietnam Veteran, having received a Purple Heart.
A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Friday at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Road, Gastonia, officiated by Pastor Scottie Stewart.
A private inurnment will be at the VA Salisbury National Cemetery.
He is survived by: daughter, Julie Thompson and husband, Eugene; brothers, Jimmie R. Hall and wife, Judy, David Hall and wife, Judy; sister, Glyda Godfrey; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by: brother, Bill Hall; sisters, Margaret Hall Detter, Hazel Hall Rector, Joanne Hall Martin.
Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
