Mrs. Monteith To Be Honored On Birthday

Mrs. St. Clair Monteith, 1329 Locust St., Indiana will be honored at an open house on her 96th birthday, Saturday, March 19, at her home from 2-5 p.m.

Mrs. Monteith has been a resident of Indiana since 1958 and prior to that had lived in Patton for 32 years. Mr. Monteith died in 1960 at the age of 82 years.

Mrs. Monteith had five daughters: Mrs. Walter (Leone) Bone, deceased: Mrs. Robert E. (Mildred) Graham, Newville: Mrs. Howard S. (Louise) Evans, Harrisburg: Mrs. Ralph E. (Viola) Beck, Indiana: and Mrs. William John (Claire W.) Shepherd, Ellwood City.

For her advanced years, Mrs. Monteith is in excellent health and is quite active. Although reading still remains one of her hobbies, her main interest in recent years has been her eight grand-daughters and nine great-grandchildren.

During her years in Patton she was very active in the Presbyterian Church. She is a member of Calvary United Presbyterian Church, a member of the Naomi Sunday School Class and the Circle 4 group. She is past worthy matron of the Patton Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star and several years ago received her 50 year pin from the order.
