He was born in Charleston on March 17, 1937, the son of Russell and Beulah Eveland Huckaba. He married Carol June Harris in 1964. Surviving were his wife; his children, Paul Huckaba and wife Sherri of Neoga, Steven Huckaba of Charleston, Chris Cottet and husband Steve of Mattoon, and Lisa Hunt and husband Dave of Charleston; two brothers, Francis Huckaba of Humboldt, and Clarence Huckaba of Ohio; and one sister, Barbara Martin of Mattoon and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Joseph. He served with the Army during the Korean Conflict.
