Daughter of William Day and Mary Ann Scott (Cott). Adopted and raised by Mary Ann Scott's second husband, whose last name was Black. Wife of John Williamson and the mother of 14 children.

This memorial has been placed in this cemetery based on information given in the Alden Williamson Genealogy, page 93, written by Joseph W Alley of Prichard, West Virginia, copyrite 1962.

"John and Elender were married abut 1798, when Elender was only 13 years old. They came to Kentucky probably in the same immigrant party as his father and older brother, Benjamin, and their families. They likely came by the way of Pound Gap of the Cumberlands and Shelby Gap. At the mouth of Shelby Creek, John and Elender dropped out of the caravan and took up residence. They remained here for a few years then moved to what is now called Lawson Branch, which is about 5 miles up John's Creek from Meta. They were the parents of 14 children. John died Aug. 7, 1867. Elender died Jan. 1, 1870. They are buried in the Williamson Cemetery on the right side as you go up Lawson Branch."

Additions and corrections are always welcomed. I will transfer management to direct family.
