Lawrence LaEl Jackson, 56, died Saturday, July 24, 2004, from lung cancer. Lawrence was born Sept. 18, 1947, in Ashton, the son of Narvin S. and Blanche McLane Jackson. On Jan. 8, 1971, he married Hideko Sakumoto in Okinawa, Japan. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was employed as help desk manager at U.S. Army Information Technology. He was a member of the LDS Church. Lawrence is survived by his wife, Hideko; sons, Tim Y. Jackson of Layton, Utah and David L. (Heather) Jackson of Ogden, Utah; a granddaughter, Mya Jackson; sisters, NaDara (Larry) Holman of St. Anthony, Arnetta Jackson of San Diego, Juanina Lewis of St. Anthony and Rayla (Val) Hathaway of Chester; a brother, Berne (Barbara) Jackson of Worley. He was preceded in death by his parents, Narvin and Blanche Jackson. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, July 27, 2004 in Ogden at the Canyon View LDS Church by Bishop Kevin Garner. Burial at Ben Lomond Cemetery in North Ogden.
