Juanina “Nina” Jackson Lewis, 69, of St. Anthony, died January 8, 2016, at her home of natural causes. She was born July 5, 1946, in Marysville, Idaho, the third child of Blanche and Narvin S. “Jack” Jackson. Her siblings were NaDara, Arnetta, LaEl, Berne and Rayla, all of whom she loved very much and was much loved by each of them. They were a close-knit, happy family and enjoyed doing things together as a family such as camping, fishing, and singing and playing music together.

She attended elementary school in Ashton and attended North Fremont High School. She also attended the College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls and Harrisburg Community College in Pennsylvania.

She married Robert Timmons in 1961 and had two children, Brian and Andrea. In 1972, she was married to Mark Lewis and three children, Joshua, Joseph and Jacob, were born to this union.

She worked in various occupations - as a waitress, secretary and as a relocaton specialist, where she was named “Employee of the Year”. She was dependable, efficient and always did her best. Her main “career” was as a mother. Nina’s life was centered around her children. They meant everything to her. She loved them with all her heart and soul. She was always involved in the children’s schools and volunteered as a Room Mother whenever she could. She was named Room Mother of the Year twice!

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the Primary and Relief Society organizations. She loved to sing in the ward choir and had a nice, strong alto voice. She also worked for a time in the San Diego Temple as a temple worker.

She loved singing, reading, playing guitar, skiing, dancing and crafts.

Nina was always kind to everyone. She would do anything to help others and always tried to do her best in everything she did. She had a strong faith in Heavenly Father and the Savior and expressed deep gratitude for His Atonement.

She is survived by her children, Brian (Jennifer) Timmons of Manhattan Beach, California, Andrea (Michael) Christensen of Santaquin, Utah, Joshua Lewis of Idaho Falls, Joseph (Marisa) Lewis of Chicago, Illinois, Jacob Lewis of Chicago; siblings NaDara (Larry, deceased) Holman of St. Anthony, Arnetta Jackson of Roy, Utah, Berne (Barbara) Jackson of Worley, Idaho, Rayla (Val) Hathaway of Chester; sister-in-law Mika Jackson of Pleasant View, Utah; grandchildren Brandon, BriAnne, Ashton, Hagan, Ali, Jaxon, CarrieAnne, Tyler, Parker, Mason, Emerson, Margot and Nina Rose; great-grandchildren, Landon and Eli. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother LaEl.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 15, at the St. Anthony 4th Ward Chapel, with Bishop Rod Perkins officiating. The family will receive friends Friday morning from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Pineview Cemetery under the direction of Baxter Funeral Home.
