BARNWELL - Funeral services for Bonetta Creech Grubbs, 83, will be held 11 a.m.
Monday, April 24, 2006, at the Chapel of Barnwell First Baptist Church with Rev.
Posey Belcher and Rev. Dr. Stephen Burnette officiating. Interment will follow
in Barnwell County Memory Gardens on Reynolds Road. Visitation was held Sunday
from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Mole Funeral Home of Barnwell. Memorials may be made
to the Arise and Build Program of First Baptist Church, 161 Allen Street,
Barnwell, SC 29812.
Mrs. Grubbs died Friday, April 21, 2006. Born July 20, 1922, in Barnwell County,
she was the daughter of the late Levi S. and Maggie Sanders Creech. She retired
from E.I. DuPont at the Savannah River Plant with 26 years of service. She was a
member of the First Baptist Church of Barnwell and taught preschoolers in Sunday
School for over 25 years.
Surviving are her husband of 63 years, Briggs "Doc" Grubbs of the home; two sons
and daughters-in-law, David B. (Cathy) Grubbs Jr. of West Columbia, SC, and
Steven R. (Gail) Grubbs of Hiram, GA; one daughter and son-in-law, Rita G. (Dr.
A. Mason) Ahearn of Georgetown, SC. She was the beloved grandmother of five
granddaughters and one grandson, and great-grandmother of two
great-granddaughters and two great-grandsons.
She was predeceased by three sisters and two brothers.
