Everett Klumforth, 77, of 829 Page Street, died Tuesday at an Iowa City care center following a short illness.

Services are Friday at the George L. Gay Funeral Home, where visitation will begin Thursday. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Klumforth was born November 24, 1897, in Hancock County, son of William and Hattie Ute Klumforth. He married Helen Edmonds, March 20, 1954, in Iowa City.

Prior to retirement, he was a meat cutter for the Gay Meat market and Locker Plant. He was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.

Surviving are his wife; six daughters, Mrs. Harley (Marguerite) Eakes of Coralville; Mrs. Glen (Priscilla) Eakes and Mrs. Shirley McAtee, both of Iowa City; Mrs. Lloyd (Frances) Smith of Des Moines; Mrs. Patricia Holderness of Cedar Rapids, and Mrs. Robet (Ione) Allen of Chariton; a stepson, Roger Edmonds of Garden Grove, Calif.; 30 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and a brother, Charles of Iowa City.

He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
