Charles C. Klumforth, 81, a 28-year employee of the city of Iowa City, died at Mercy Hospital Thursday night after a long illness. He was formerly of 622 Walnut St. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the George L. Gay Funeral Home. The Rev. C. Conrad Browne will officiate. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation has begun at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
Mr. Klumforth was born March 22, 1899, in Garner, a son of William and Hattie Duo Klumforth. He attended schools in Iowa City.
He married Agnes I. Teller Dec. 25, 1919, in Des Moines.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Betty (Ronald) McNabb and Mrs. Ada (Lawrence) Svatos, both of Iowa City; one son, Charles F. of Iowa City; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
His wife, two brothers and one sister died earlier.
