Aleck Dorsey, 74, passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital.
He joined the military and toured as a Merchant Marine. Later, he was employed with The Department of Navy Military Sea Lift, where he devoted 35 years of service.
He was preceded in death by both parents Wilbert and Geneva Dorsey, one sister Lucille Newton, one brother Elmer Dorsey, three daughters Jacquline Dolphin, Gwendolyn Spalding and Joann Anderson.
He is survived by his devoted wife Murlene Joann Proctor Dorsey; children Gary Dorsey, Cynthia Proctor, Linda Faye Mack and Frank Day all of Alexandria, Don Evans, Jean Givens and Daniel Dorsey of Fort Worth, Reginald Evans, Paris Evans, Dyron Dorsey, Aleck Dorsey, Jr., Glenn Batton, Reginald Batton, Angela Dorsey, Larry Milton all of California, Janice Alexander of Bossier.
