Vivian Barela Salcido passed away on Wednesday June 20, 2012 at the age of 58. Vivian was born and raised in Carnuel, NM.
Vivian will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Vivian was a confirmation teacher for 28 years and was employed by Southwest Airlines. Vivian loved spending time with family, traveling and was very involved with church and community. Vivian loved and put smiles on everybody's faces, she impressioned the hearts of all she knew.
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, Augustine and Stella Herrera, sister, Yvonne García and late husband, David Barela.
Vivian is survived by her husband, Isidro Joe Salcido of nine years, children, Davy Barela and his wife, Michelle, daughter, Ocean, Ernest Barela and Natalie, Anthony Barela and son, Ray Barela, siblings, Bessie Herrera and Sonny Maéz, Jerry Herrera and his wife, Isabel and Sammy A. Herrera, 12 grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews family and friends who loved and will miss her.
Services will be held at Holy Child Catholic Church in Tijeras. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday June 27, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Santo Niño Catholic Cemetery in Carnuel, NM.
