Final Rites Held For John Allen Ard

Services were held Sunday morning at ten o'clock in the Topeka Baptist church for John Allen Ard, retired farmer, who died Friday night at his home about nine miles south of Monticello following a long illness, Mr. Ard was eightly-five years old. He was buried in the Providence Baptist church cemetery with the Hartman Funeral Home of Monticello in charge of arrangements.
A native of Lincoln county, Mr. Ard had lived in the Topeka community for forty-three years. he was the son of the late Washington Ard and Annie Brister Ard. He was a Baptist.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Ella Lambert Ard of Topeka, three sons; Walter Ard, Carlos Ard and J.D. Ard, all of the southern part of Lawrence county; four daughters; Mrs. Ina Varnado, Mrs. Bertha McKinney, Mrs. Ray Magee and Mrs. Nolan Smith, all of Brookhaven, two sisters; Mrs. Lizzie Lambert and Mrs. Evie Lambert, both of Lawrence county and fourteen grandchildren.
