Shaner). But what is known for certain is that he served in the Revolutionary War, lived in Westmoreland Co., PA, and later settled in Beaver Co., PA.
Matthias married Sophronia Poe, daughter of George Jacob and Elizabeth Catherine Poe, in 1756 in Westmoreland Co., PA. They had at least seven children:
